Woke up this morning anticipating a warm, sunny day on the beach.  Well, it wasn't exactly warm and sunny but Jane went to the beach any way.
Despite the cold and cloudy day, Jane did spend some time on the beach (enough time to take a picture).  We almost decided to leave early, but held out hope that the skies would clear as the day went on.  We did some more laundry, caught up on D.O.G. work, read some papers and books and watched some TV.  We took the boys on a long walk around the park (not nearly the same as the dog walk at the Fort).  We saw a couple of guys washing one of the big RV's and talked to them about getting a price on doing ours.  We decided to have them wash and wax Alf.  They were about finished with the one they were working on and said they would be back after lunch to do ours.  Finally, after a long delay, they returned about 2:00 and started.

About 4:00 the clouds parted and the sun came out.  We all ran out to enjoy the sun and a little bite warmer weather.  Scott and George were happy since they now had a little more daylight.  It seemed that everyone came out to enjoy the sun.

We woke up anticipating a sunny, warm day. Well, it wasn't sunny or warm but Jane was determined to go to the beach.  She put on a jacket, took a blanket and went to "enjoy" the beach.  She stayed just long enough to take a couple of pictures.
After returning to the RV to warm up, we took the dogs for a walk around the park, not the same as the walks we have been taking at the FORT.  On our walk we met and talked to a couple of guys washing a big RV.  We talked to them about doing  Alf.  They agreed to return to do Alf after lunch.  In the mean time we went to the office and bought a couple of "souvenier" swearshirts.  While waiting for the wash crew we caught up on D.O.G. work, read the paper, read a book and just killed time.  About 2:00 the guys returned to start washing and waxing Alf.

The guys were making good progress, but it looked like it was going to be dark before they finished.  About 4:00 the clouds broke and the sun came out.  Everyone was happy to see it.  Jane could actually enjoy some sun today, George and Scott had more daylight and Iona could get out of the coach and enjoy the day, even though it was still cool.
The beach - 4:00 p.m.
The beach - 9:00 a.m.
While the George and Scott were doing their thing, we were starting to get hungry and thinking about a pizza.  I asked George if there was a good pizza place that delivered and he told me about the NYPD (New York Pizza Delivery) just up the street.  We decided to try them when it was dinner time.  I also asked George what wax he uses.  He said it is a wax that was originally developed for aircraft and modified for RV's - Rejex.  He really likes it and it gives a great shine.  They finally finished in the fading light and we ordered pizza.  I will have to give Alf a good look over in the morning for places they may have missed buffing.  It will be understandable if they did miss a place or two since the light wasn't very good when they were finishing up.  Pizza was good (not as good as Minsky's at home).  We watched some TV and went to bed.  We are off to Birmingham, AL tomorrow.

Day broke bright and sunny, naturally since we are leaving.  Fairly short day today, about 200 miles to Birmingham South RV camp.
Nice sunny day, roads pretty good - nice driving day. We got into Birmingham South about 2:30 and quickly got set up.  We were parked under a tree that dropped acorn type nuts on the roof all night with considerable noise.  Things were fine until about 2:00 a.m. when I woke up with cold air blowing on me.  I knew that the air conditioners/heat pumps were set to heat when we went to bed.  What I didn't know was that the outside temps had dropped to 38 degrees - too cold for the heat pumps.  Once I realized that and turned on the gas furnace things warmed up nicely.

Woke up this morning to a sunny day, with frost on the on the grass.  We have thought about finding a campground north of Birmingham for our trips north.  I saw one listed in Cullman, AL, so we thought we would check it out on the way by.  It is only about 2 miles off the interstate.  The road to it is very narrow, uneven, and winding.  Once we got to it the sites are very narrow and uneven.  Makes Birmingham South look pretty good. It was a nice driving day, sunny and NO WIND.  We got to Duck Creek about 2:00 and took the boys right out to Max's Big Backyard to run.  When I checked in, I met Sophie, Max's successor.  I told Jane that she had to go meet Sophie.  So off she went.  I continued to set up water, power, sewer, and TV.  Pretty soon got a call from Jane to come down to the office.  So off I went. When I got there, Mike, one of the owners was playing a Psaltery.  Psalterys are stringed instruments that Mike says are very easy to play.  He played several songs and was very good.  A;most made me want to buy one.  Mike also sells them.  Well, we finally had to go back to the RV and feed the dogs, so we said good night and went to figure out what we were going to have for dinner.

Boys got me up early again, I wish they would get on Central Time.  Took them for one more romp in Max's Big Back Yard, but I think they know they are almost home, they didn't want to romp, just go back to RV and hit the road.  We made a quick stop for gas and Panera's and were off.  Nice day for driving, a little overcast and the roads are fairly good, at least at the start.  ran into some construction around Mt Vernon.  We are dropping Jane's mom off to visit Jane's brother in Lake St Louis, so we will make a little detour.  after we left Lake St Louis we continued west on I-70 on the final leg home, only 180 miles to go!  Got off the interstate at 4:10, were home at 4:15 and ordered Minsky's Pizza at 4:25.  Home at last, the boys are happy to go out in their yard.
